Extra Credit
An in-depth look at the challenges routinely faced by the "film extra" workforce. Based on extensive research and probing interviews, this documentary tour-de-farce exposes the pathetic, soft underbelly of a system out of control. It explores the lives of extras as they navigate their way through the particularly difficult days of the recent (and ongoing) "extra strike". And while this strike has been, and still is largely invisible to most in the film industry, it has had a profound impact on a small handful of unfortunate individuals.
While most organized strikes in the film world revolve around money, royalties, money, working hours, money, catering, money, internet rights and money, the extras strike seeks to resolve only one primary issue: Credit! Yes, there you have it... All that is needed to end this crippling strike is a mechanism by which all extras can see their name roll by at the end of the film! (Maybe the answer is something like that yellow "first down" line you see on televised football games... It's not really there you know... An extra told me that!)
Certain to become a landmark film of epic proportions, if not an epic film of landmark proportions. And maybe, just maybe, a tool to help resolve this hellish strike!
